How to write an invitation letter for tourist visa to Ukraine (With Free Samples)
Embassies all over the world frequently request documents that can be perplexing to travelers, particularly those who are applying for their first visa. This is especially true for first-time visa applicants. The applicant may, however, learn a great deal about each document, including how to obtain it and why it is required, with just a little bit of effort on their part.
When applying for the first time, first-time applicants often have trouble understanding the purpose of certain documents, such as a letter of invitation. Everything associated with a letter of invitation can be described as being rather straightforward and uncomplicated.
What exactly is a letter of invitation to apply for a visa?
An Invitation Letter for a Visa Application is a letter that the applicant needs to submit to the embassy or consulate where they are applying for a visitor visa. This letter should be addressed to the consular officer who will be processing the applicant’s visa application.
This document is penned by the applicant’s host, who either confirms to the applicant or the consular officer that they will provide lodging for the applicant in their home for the entirety of their time spent in the country where the host lawfully resides. The document is addressed either to the applicant or to the consular officer.
What are the Necessary Elements of an Invitation Letter, and How Do I Write One?
For the letter of invitation to be considered legitimate, the host is required to satisfy the following requirements:
- Must be a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the nation you wish to visit; must be your friend, boyfriend, or girlfriend; or must be a member of your family or a relative; must have a registered location in the country; and must have a valid passport (home, flat)
- must be spacious enough to accommodate the application.
Even if it is not required, it is strongly recommended that you submit a letter of invitation even if it is not required by the embassy you are applying to visit. Some embassies around the world do not require a letter of invitation.
Supporting Documents, Including a Letter of Invitation
As was stated earlier, the Letter of Invitation is not required in many embassies; consequently, the host is not required to send any other documents along with it. This is because the Letter of Invitation is not a requirement. Despite this, and regardless of whether or not the letter is required, it would be very considerate on the part of the applicant to submit any of the following documents together with the Letter of Invitation:
- A scanned copy of the host’s identification document or passport
- Manifestations of one’s means of subsistence (if the host will financially support the guest)
- Documentation demonstrating ownership of the house or apartment, or a rental agreement
- An itinerary comprising the locations that are intended to be visited in conjunction with one another
- If the host has taken time off from work to be with you while you are visiting their country, then it would be in your best interest to produce documentation that shows this fact.

There are various types of invitation letters for visas in Ukraine, but for this post, we would focus on the most common types of Invitation letters to Ukraine;
- Invitation letter for a tourist visa to Ukraine
- Invitation letter for business visa to Ukraine.
Both letters are similar because they are written with the intent to have a short-term stay visa granted to you, what differs is the intent of the travel.
A tourist invitation for a visa is written to you by a friend or a close acquaintance who is in the intended country of visit.
An invitation letter for a business visa is written by the company in question to you, to enable you to come over to the receiving country for a business encounter or any business-related meeting as the name suggests.
